New Order – Fall 2011
The trend of New Order stems from our discontent with outdated social & political systems. There is growing outrage with the aristocratic hierarchy of our culture and being slaves to the system. Turmoil is growing on a global level demanding attention and change. We crave expansion in consciousness and a more diverse education that is appropriate for the times we live in. We are waking up to discover that we have a deep connection to our planet and fellow humans. Globally there is desire for independence and revolution – the time of monopolizing businesses and media is coming to an end. It is a period of refined rebellion in which we organize a new way of living. New Order stands for all living creatures, the value of all life, sustainability and universal awareness. Dare to think independently and free yourself from media brainwashing and the desire for material possessions. We must listen to the messages in our dreams and use that inspiration to guide us toward our evolution. Imagination is our most powerful tool in shaping our rapidly changing reality and we must cultivate it. Harmony and balance will reside within us as our dedication to consciousness takes precedence over everyday distractions. It is time to re-connect with each other and what life should be, a sensory experience where we explore the possibilities of the mind, art, music, beauty sexuality and our role in the world.
In style this trend is heavily influenced by the radical political style of the 60’s revolutionaries as well as global street style. The urban nomad look and attitude is combined with a touch of punk, intuitive personal style, military details and work wear creating the look of New Order. It speaks to what is now in the front of our minds, a voice expressing the global situation. Key fabrications are Corduroy, denim, canvas & layered sweater knits. Important items include the turtleneck, layered lightweight sweaters, hooded jackets, ark leg and drop crotch pants with overlapping pleated waistlines. Weathered treatments, earthy findings and efficient pockets are key details. The color palette is earthy tones and neutrals with simple patterns like stripes and small-scale prints & check. Be smart, make a statement, be heard, be seen, make history.

Love this look. Finally, style with substance, something we really haven’t seen in ten years.
